Concord-Carlisle High School Golf

Varsity golf at CCHS is extremely competitive.  All players should maintain an honest USGA handicap through their home course, counting every shot, posting every score, every day - if you don’t keep a real score or don’t have an official handicap, you are not a real golfer and not a good fit for our TEAM.

To make the team and succeed at this level, players will need to have significant tournament experience.  It is recommended that all candidates for the team play in at least five tournaments run by the following organizations:

*MGA Junior Championship

*International Junior Golf Tour

*US Challenge Cup

*NEPGA Titleist Junior Tour (TJT (lower tier) and TPT (higher tier)

*Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT)

Other things that every successful candidate should do in the spring/summer includes:

• Set goals for yourself that can be measured (handicap, score, fairways hit, greens hit, putts per round, up and downs etc.) and work to achieve them.      
• Develop a mentality of focus and competitiveness, and finish every hole, and every round, strong.          
                                                                                     
• Find a swing coach/PGA professional and work with them on a consistent basis. 

• Practice hard and smart – the putting green and range is our weight room.
  • Become automatic on putts from 5 feet and in
  • Work on your weaknesses – if you’re comfortable doing it move on to something else.  Chip out of the rough, practice from the sand, work on recovery shots etc.

• Play in all kinds of weather – learning to deal with wind, rain etc. will make you better.

• Play with different people, including people who are better than you.  Learn by watching others.

• Caddy for the best players at your club – learn from watching great players up close.
